Imagine, after a show, a charmingly persistent taxi driver named Bhanu waltzes in with an offer that's truly out of left field: an American couple, John and Summer, are on the lookout for a surrogate mama, as Summer's sweet heart yearns for a baby she can't carry herself. And darling, they're willing to shell out a whopping ₹20 lakh – a sum that could practically buy Mimi her very own star on the Walk of Fame! With a fierce, maternal spark, Mimi defiantly chooses life, concocting a wonderfully wild story of elopement and marriage with dear Bhanu, who, along with Shama, gallantly plays along. And oh, what a reveal! A healthy, perfectly non-disabled baby boy, Raj, arrives, whose delightfully fair skin utterly perplexes the town, turning him into a local, adorable wonder. Their cab driver banter is pure gold, a delightful back-and-forth of tongue-in-cheek humor that will have you quite literally rolling on the floor in happy hysterics. Pankaj Tripathi, bless his sweet, sensitive, yet hilariously bewildered heart, plays the 'dumb fool' with such a charming innocence, especially when his cleverly tucked-away wife adds an extra layer of uproarious moments as the story unfolds, giving his performance a never-ending rush of comedic brilliance. And personally, I simply adored seeing Kriti Sanon shine in a role like this, a million miles away from the usual 'bimbo' or 'trophy girlfriend' parts; she was truly, utterly made for Mimi, radiating warmth and strength. While it might not be hailed as the greatest cinematic masterpiece of all time, Mimi certainly leaves a wonderfully warm, fuzzy feeling nestled deep inside your heart, making you want to re-watch those perfectly silly scenes again and again just for a few more adorable giggles. It's a lovely little cinematic hug that you'll want to snuggle up with time and time again!
